Aarhus Crossfit
In Aarhus Crossfit, unity and community play a big role.
There is motivation and guidance available from both members and competent staff.
Our many classes and great facilities provide ample opportunity for training that suits your specific needs.
Aarhus Crossfit
In 2011, we rolled out the first tractor tires in the unpolished and urban surroundings of Aarhus Harbour.
The authentic, primitive and raw premises would create the framework for high-quality crossfit training and a “come-as-you-are” mentality.
To our great satisfaction, we have since found that there are many Aarhusians who share our passion for Crossfit.
Today we have 58 helpful and competent instructors and receptionists who are at the heart of our efforts to provide our members with the best service and guidance.
The tone is still informal and the premises unpolished, and what hasn’t changed is that our doors are open to everyone.
There’s no doubt that our recipe for success lies in offering high-quality CrossFit training with a focus on technique, intensity and, not least, community.
Because community is what gets our members out the door when darkness has fallen, the rain is beating on the window and the hurricane is raging.
At Aarhus Crossfit, we train together.
Our mission and vision
Aarhus Crossfit’s mission is to set the framework for high-quality training with a focus on the right technique, intensity and community.
This is ensured through in-depth knowledge of Crossfit and associated lifestyle as well as our competent employees, who are of great value to our members as well as to our organizational results.
Our vision is to be recognized as the preferred Crossfit center in Aarhus.
We want to contribute to the health and well-being of our members and the local community, as well as act as a sanctuary in an otherwise busy everyday life.
Crossfit is for those who want an intensive and versatile but natural workout where we are one hundred percent present and give everything we have in us.
It’s a workout that’s different.
A workout that builds on the body’s natural movements and the elements we all have around us.
Crossfit is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, experience, ability or personality.

Crossfit and movements
Functional movements are part of human nature and for as long as humans have lived, we have stood, sat, thrown, pulled, lifted, pushed, climbed, run and jumped.
These natural movements are a big part of the exercises in Crossfit.
Functional movements generally involve multiple joints and muscle groups and generate power from the core of the body out to the extremities (outer joints).
These functional movements help you to move the most weight in the shortest time, thereby also achieving a very high power output.
In the mainstream fitness world, functional movements have taken a back seat to static isolated movements in machines.
These static isolated exercises hinder the body’s natural and free movement patterns, thereby hindering the natural functionality we are born with.
Crossfit and intensity
It’s the intensity that Crossfit has become known for. In Crossfit, we define intensity as working for time. To keep the intensity high, a Crossfit workout is anywhere from 3 minutes to 20 minutes. Because of the high intensity of the workout, we see really good and fast results with people doing Crossfit. It’s now common knowledge that high-intensity training produces greater improvements in VO2-max (oxygen uptake) and fat burning, among other things, than moderate-intensity training. The functional movements help us to achieve the high intensity by activating the whole body, and therefore several muscle groups at once. You will never achieve the same intensity with the isolated movements in machines. The majority of our training focuses on anaerobic performance, which helps improve aerobic work.
